YEREVAN. – The court has granted the investigator’s petition to remand in custody the man who is accused of murdering his baby boy and beating his wife in Armenia’s Armavir Province.

According to preliminary investigation, on September 28, this 32-year-old man had used violence against his one-year-old son, in their place of residence, the Investigative Committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. In particular, he had hit the baby’s face, back, head, and the various parts of his body.

Seeing her husband using violence against their child, the latter’s mother had attempted to intervene. But the man used violence against her too, by hitting the woman in the head, and then by slapping her.

Criminal charges have been filed Tuesday against this man.

The preliminary investigation is still in progress.
