Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan has reflected on the work that has been carried out toward the health care of persons who are held in custody in Armenia.  

In particular, he wrote on Facebook that the number detainees and convicts who have been transferred to the country’s healthcare facilities is around 200 more, from January to September 30, 2018, as compared with those who were transferred during the same period in the year past.

Zeynalyan stressed that the aforesaid was the situation in the case when the number of persons who are held in Armenia’s penitentiaries is nearly 900 less, between January-September of the current year, than during the same period in 2017.

Also, as per the justice minister, the number of these persons receiving state-guaranteed free medical care exceeds during the first nine months of 2018, as compared with the same period last year.
