The Armenian economy should be export-oriented, Armenian acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters on Wednesday.
According to him, monopolies in Armenia do not make sense, since the republic and its market are small.
“We should not think about dividing the domestic market. We should think how to make our economy export-oriented. We should think how to ensure large flow of tourists. Our economy should be focused on exports,” he explained.
Pashinyan also touched on the problem of poverty, saying that the most effective tool for solving it is to encourage employment.
“We have been encouraging unemployment for many years, it had some political overtones,” Pashinyan said.
