By the decree of President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, renowned physicist, academician of Armenia’s National Academy of Sciences and Honorary Head of the Chair of General Physics and Astrophysics named after academician V. Hambardzumyan at Yerevan State University Davit Sedrakyan was awarded the 1st Degree Medal “For Services to the Homeland”. President Sargsyan today visited the renowned physic and granted the high state award of the Republic of Armenia, reports the official website of the President of the Republic of Armenia to NEWS.am.

Armen Sargsyan had a friendly conservation with his old professor and recalled his years as a student and Professor Sedrakyan’s interesting lectures, as well as the “Astrophysics” magazine that he had established.

The President mentioned that academician Sedrakyan had educated and transmitted knowledge and professional skills to many generations and wished him health and all the best.
