Rural schools in Armenia will turn into scientific and cultural centers. This is what Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan said in his speech during the question-and-answer session at the National Assembly on 6 March, responding to the questions of Deputy of the My Step Alliance Aram Khachatryan.
According to the minister, the ministry has developed a couple of models, one of which envisages turning rural schools into scientific and cultural centers where pre-schools and kindergartens will be joined under one roof.
As the government official stated, in all communities where schools are under renovation, the ministry will do everything to make sure the building houses a school, kindergarten and cultural center, providing educational services to not only children, but also schoolchildren at higher levels.
The minister also stated that this would help raise teachers’ salaries.
