Independence is key to success of analytical centers, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian said during the opening ceremony of the the Orbeli Analytical Research Center on Wednesday.

According to the president, the effectiveness of analytical centers is closely connected with the fact how committed they are to democratic values ​​and the spirit of freedom.

"Advisers and institutes of consultations existed also in antiquity, exists and will exist. Besides, they can work also at the universities or can work as the independent centers. Main goal of such centers is the formation of public consciousness, ”the president noted.

Armen Sarkissian offered cooperation with the center in order to bring such culture in Armenia to the international level.

In conclusion, the President invited representatives of the Orbeli Center to take part in the Summit of Minds, which will be held in October 2019 in Dilijan.
