Armenia, which is engaged in a conflict, has to be very careful not to convey the wrong message and not show a wrong attitude towards citizens who have decided to come and serve in the Armed Forces. This is what Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared during a meeting with members of the Armenian community of Vienna at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Austria, touching upon the question on what regulation the government will present for those wanted for avoiding military service.
“We have discussed this topic several times and in different formats and stated the action that will be right from the perspectives of content and law. We have discussed some options, but we still haven’t found a solution that makes us 100% sure that we are doing the right thing,” he stated.
Pashinyan informed that 90-95% of the wanted in Armenia are wanted for avoiding fixed-term military service, adding that the government has to present a certain regulation and propose a solution that will be acceptable for all.
Touching upon the organizing of the Pan-Armenian Games, Pashinyan stated that an unprecedented number of Armenians will be participating in the Pan-Armenian Games this year and added that even though the information is not official, he believes it is logical.
