Armenia’s Ambassador to Iraq Hrachya Poladyan met with head of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority Ali Khalil Ibrahim on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities for opening regular direct flights between Yerevan and Baghdad by the Iraqi Airways. In this connection, Ambassador Poladyan stressed the importance of the future signing of the Air Communication Agreement between the two countries.
Ali Khalil Ibrahim noted that Armenia was considered as a tourist friendly country and expressed willingness to resume regular flights between the capitals of the two countries, attaching importance to the need to revise the issue of granting certain types of visa facilitation to the Iraqi side.
The parties agreed to organize mutual visits in the near future to discuss the problems existing in the field of air communication.
