On 4 April, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan received Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Armenia José Avelino Bettencourt, reports the news service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, according to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Issues related to the relations between the Vatican and Armenia, the functions of and problems with spiritual services in the armed forces, religious freedoms and spiritual discipline.

The sides attached importance to the need for the army-church relationship and building regulated relations.
