Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will find its settlement sooner or later, NKR Foreign Minister Georgy Petrosyan stated at the interview with Turkish NTV channel.

Stepanakert repeatedly declared its readiness to sit down at the negotiating table with Azerbaijan and discuss various issues, but was turned down for some reason or other, Petrosyan outlined. “Maybe Azerbaijan has its argumentation, however to my mind it has no grounds for such a persistent refusal from direct contact with us. We stated repeatedly the conflict settlement will not be effective without accommodating NKR people’s opinion,” the Minister stated.

Speaking of NKR non-recognition by any state, Petrosyan outlined that according to international law, that political situation in the country do not depend on its today’s recognition. “In addition, within these years (since 1992) we proved both ourselves and others we wish and are capable of establishing the statehood. And this is the pillar for our general policy under the current situation. I would say these days, the base of future is smoothen, when the Karabakhi officials will have grounds to associate with journalists and political figures of various countries. A lot and quiet political dialogue, as well as discussions will be very effective,” Petrosyan concluded.
