An Egyptian court sentenced three teenagers to 15 years in prison for killing a 17-year-old boy while trying to protect a young girl from abuse, AP reported.

A fourth teenager involved in the attack was sentenced to five years in prison.

The court ruled that three suspects stabbed 17-year-old Mahmoud el-Bann in October. The fourth suspect was an accomplice and took the killers away from the scene on a motorcycle.

The agency notes that this is the maximum prison term applicable to minors under Egyptian law.
