Fifty one people were injured on a highway in the US state of Virginia as a result of a mass road accident involving 69 cars, CBS News reported.

The incident occurred on the Queens Creek Bridge, which is located near the city of Richmond. Cars crashed into each other in a chain due to ice and fog.

Out of 51 injured 11 people are in serious condition.
