At least 12 people were killed of Typhoon Phanfone in the Philippines, 16 were missing, ABS-CBN reported referring to a local officials.

Local media say at least 10 people have died - including a three-year-old boy - with most deaths occurring in Iloilo and Capiz provinces, BBC reported

Typhoon Phanfone struck the Philippines in the evening of December 24.

It reportedly moves at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, and the wind speed in gusts can reach 54 meters per second.

According to weather forecasts, the typhoon will be stopped by Friday evening or Saturday.
