YEREVAN. - The United States will suspend aiding the Millennium Challenges Corporation (MCC) projects in Armenia because of inefficient financial management, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch stated on Friday.

The Armenian authorities can deal with the problems and the financing may be resumed, she added. Ambassador Yovanovitch stressed that it may induce the Armenian Government to improve the work to meet the MCC requirements.

She also pointed out some problems in elections, freedom of the press and meetings.

Investments in Armenia’s agricultural sector will reach $180 million this September, when the program is to be completed, said the Ambassador.
