YEREVAN. - All the employers that will pay health insurance for their employees will pay lower profit taxes, Vahtang Miroyan of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia told journalists on Friday.
According to amendments to Armenia`s law on income tax, insurance payments are not taxed.
Thus, individuals effecting insurance payments will pay 35% less as income and profit tax.
The amendments are supposed to promote medical insurance, which may become compulsory in Armenia soon. Thus, the Armenian government seeks to relieve the burden on the state medical budget.
