New protests against the use of minerals as energy sources were held at a new coal power plant in Germany, DW reports.
On Sunday, activists demanded the immediate end to the use of coal for this purpose and disagreement with the German government's plan to switch to renewable energy by 2038.
More than 100 people broke into the power plant, which was scheduled to be commissioned this year, and occupied two cranes, a police spokesman said in response to an inquiry by epd agency. According to him, these actions of the demonstrators are a violation of the law.
