Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Artak Beglaryan has touched upon the statement by the Central Electoral Commission of Azerbaijan that the people of Karabakh can participate in the upcoming elections in Azerbaijan.
“The Central Electoral Commission of Azerbaijan has declared that the people of Karabakh can participate in the elections in Azerbaijan. I admire this magnanimity. Instead of being magnanimous, Azerbaijan should think about Armenophobia and the level of democracy and human rights protection in the country. I am certain that the Azerbaijanis will be allowed to participate in the elections in Artsakh, if they acquire citizenship of Artsakh,” Artak Beglaryan tweeted.
In April 2020, Artsakh will hold parliamentary and presidential elections, and on February 9, 2020, Azerbaijan will hold snap parliamentary elections.
