With today’s decision, the authorities are neutralizing the last bastion of the former authorities. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly Gayane Abrahamyan declared during a discussion on the bill on making amendments to the Constitution at the National Assembly today.

Abrahamyan was rather emotional in her speech. “Some might say the authorities are late, but it’s better late than never. In the past, the authorities would implement all of its humiliating plans through the Constitutional Court. We believe the Constitutional Court also has to be formed in accordance with the will of the people,” the parliamentarian emphasized. Moreover, she assured that “the incumbent authorities aren’t fighting against President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan, but for lawfulness and the Constitution.”
