The ruling New Azerbaijan Party party led by President Ilham Aliyev, can receive the largest number of deputy mandates in the new composition of the Azerbaijani parliament.

According to the results of the exit poll of the American company Arthur J. Finkelstein & Associates, published at the end of the snap parliamentary elections held on Sunday in the republic, TASS reported.

As Arthur J. Finkelstein & Associates noted, another 41 mandates are given to independent candidates. Sociologists of the American company visited 1,053 polling stations. The survey error is estimated at 3.6-3.9%.

Snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were called by President Ilham Aliyev at the end of last year after the dissolution of the parliament.

Voting was conducted according to the majority system, in single-mandate constituencies: 1314 candidates claim 125 seats in a unicameral parliament, 11 of which were nominated by initiative groups of voters, 246 - 19 political parties, 1057 were self-nominated. Voting lists include more than 5.3 million citizens. There is no threshold for turnout under the law, so the election would be considered valid with any number of voters.

A ttoal of 883 observers representing 59 international organizations are accredited to the elections. The largest mission - 380 people - was sent by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). The CIS mission consists of 252 experts, and PACE has 25 people. The number of local observers has exceeded 77 thousand, of which over 30 thousand represent the country's political parties.
