YEREVAN. – It is proposed to ban individuals and legal entities from posting outdoor advertising in Yerevan without the permission of Yerevan Municipality. The author of the respective bill, majority My Step faction MP Artur Hovhannisyan, stated this today at the sitting of the National Assembly of Armenia during the discussion of the bill on making amendments and additions to the Law on Advertising.

In particular, as per this law proposal, it shall be prohibited to place advertisements in Yerevan's general use zones, poles, utility pole, fences, trees, as well as in any other public place, with the exception of banners intended for this purpose, and which are placed in apartment buildings and in the administrative districts of the capital city.

And in case of violating these requirements, according to the lawmaker, the responsible persons will be subject to an administrative fine of 100 thousand drams.

Hovhannisyan assured that these measures are proposed to ensure the proper appearance of Yerevan. This, he said, allows the city's litter problem to be resolved to a certain extent.
