On the evening of February 24, the on-duty officer of Nubarashen Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia illegally removed the Penitentiary Institution’s arrestee Vahagn Abgaryan from his cell and escorted him to a cell on another floor of the building where the convicts on that floor got into dispute with him and hit different parts of his body, causing bodily injuries, and a criminal case has been instituted, as reported the news service of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia.

The Special Investigation Service of Armenia has instituted a criminal case in relation to a case of alleged abuse of official position by an officer of Nubarashen Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.

Preliminary investigation is underway.
