By the decision of the Board of Trustees of the Yerevan State University (YSU) Foundation, an open competition was announced for the vacant position of YSU Rector.

Five candidates have applied; they are: Vahram Dumanyan, Dean of YSU Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics; Vahe Hovhannisyan, Head of the Chair of Civic Procedure at YSU Faculty of Law; Ruben Melkonyan, Dean of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies; Pavel Gevorgyan, Head of the Chair of Mathematical Analysis at the Moscow State Pedagogical University; and Ashot Saghyan, Acting Director of YSU Institute of Pharmacy.

The election of YSU Rector will take place on March 23.
