The main imam of Turkey and the head of the Department of Religious Affairs, Ali Erbas, took part in the first prayer after the re-conversion of the famous Orthodox Cathedral of Hagia Sophia into a mosque. 

The head of the Office of Religious Affairs took part in prayer with a sword and in his speech cursed the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, without mentioning his name, according to the Turkish website Milliyet.

Ali Erbash, in particular, said that Islamic property is inviolable, and whoever touches it will be burned and cursed.

Hagia Sophia was turned from a mosque into a museum during the reign of Ataturk and by his order.
