YEREVAN. – I have not been a member of any party. Artur Vagharshyan, the President’s nominee for a judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, said this during the debates on the candidacies for judges of the Constitutional Court at Monday’s session of the National Assembly.

Vagharshyan noted that he took part in political processes, mainly had oppositional views, but that was before the "velvet revolution" in Armenia

He noted that the Constitutional Court of Armenia should have independent judges who do not belong to any political force. "He must be a person who will have a neutral position and will be able to soften the 'sharp corners,'" the Constitutional Court judge candidate explained, assuring that he is that person.
