YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s initiative on amnesty will be considered on May 25, if parliament’s work goes according to the schedule, Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan told journalists.

He explained that prior to consideration of an amnesty President should sign the law amending Criminal Procedure Code adopted by parliament on Monday.

Abrahamyan stressed that president’s initiative to declare an amnesty is to the point and will defuse political tension in the country.
