YEREVAN. - Despite the rumor about unprecedented scales of emigration no threatening increase has been registered, assured the Head of State Migration Service of Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration Gagik Yeganyan on Monday.
He pointed out at some Armenian media outlets’ claims that emigration balance in 2010 constituted 70 thousand people.
“Analysis shows that in 2008 the emigration balance was 23 thousand people, in 2009 the balance was 25 thousand, and in 2010 it was 29.8 thousand. Consequently the talks about unprecedented emigration are irrelevant,” stressed Yeganyan.
He also urged the media to cooperate with the agency and publish real figures instead of unverified information.
