The European Union is concerned over the recent fatal incidents in Nagorno-Karabakh last week.

“We are very worried about the fatal incidents last week in Georgia and in Nagorno-Karabakh over the week-end,” EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said following the discussions in the EU Council for Foreign Affairs on Monday, the EU press service reports.

Azerbaijani mass media has recently disseminated information that two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed allegedly on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in Nagorno-Karabakh region last weekend as a result of ceasefire violation by Armenian armed forces.

In a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Defense Ministry of Nagorno-Karabakh dismissed reports.

“It is regular misinformation spread by the Azerbaijani side,” Senor Hasratyan, spokesperson for NKR Defense Ministry, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Military units of NKR defense army respect ceasefire regime,” he added.
