YEREVAN. – In next three days western and southwestern air currents will dominate South Caucasus region, which means that the ash cloud of Icelandic Grimsvotn volcano will not reach Armenia said the head of Armstatehydromet operations section Zaruhi Petrosyan to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The eruption of Grimsvotn in Iceland began on May 21. The height of ash and smoke plum is reaching 11-15 km. Icelandic TV company reports that an area of 200km round the volcano is declared a non-flying zone. However, meteorologists say that current eruption will not case grave problems to international air-traffic.
