YEREVAN. - No critical points are expected in Russian, U.S. and French Presidents’ statement on Karabakh conflict resolution, political scientist Alexander Skakov, Work Group Coordinator, Caucasus and Central Asia, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, the statement will again refer to the updated Madrid principles, as well as designate unacceptability of military hostilities in the region.

“The world realizes that the war possibility in Karabakh increases. The international community and mediator countries in particular are not extremely interested in resumption of large-scale military operations in the region,” Skakov said, noting the parties to the conflict should first understand it.

According to the analyst, this approach will positively affect the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

Presidents of Russia, U.S. and France will issue a joint statement on Nagorno-Karabakh. According to Russian presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko, the trilateral statement will be issued by G8 summit in Deauville.
