YEREVAN.- Nowadays, no one having serious business goals can engaged in trade aimed exclusively on importing goods, said Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Speaking during the fourth congress of Chamber of Commerce held on Thursday, President noted we need to set more serious goals and challenges.

President reassured that promotion of local production is government’s priority. 

“Such activity is certainly more time-consuming, but we are not lazy. It definitely requires new resources,and complex calculations, but all experts agree that our country has untapped potential and experts needed for the job,” he added.

President Sargsyan stressed that tax and customs reforms, solving the problem of overpayments, deferred payment of VAT on imported equipment, creation of free trade zone and other initiatives will bring about changes in business sentiments in Armenia.
