YEREVAN. - The Armenian authorities are not dreaming about dialogue with the opposition to consider amnesty in this context, head of ruling Republican Party Galust Sahakyan told a briefing in parliament.
Declaring an amnesty is a humanistic move made on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
MP from ARF Dashnaktsutyun Artsvik Minasyan said the amnesty is a political action with political and social pretext. He stressed that amnesty declared in 2009 was a half step.
“Then, ARFD insisted on broader amnesty to defuse political tension in the country. In this context, current amnesty is to solve the remaining problems,” Minasyan said.
