YEREVAN.- Opposition activist arrested on politically motivated charges Sasun Mikaelyan was released minutes ago from prison hospital.

Mikaelyan’s relatives and supporters of the opposition Armenian National Congress gathered near the hospital since morning.  

A former Armenian MP, a veteran of Karabakh war Sasun Mikaelyan was sentenced to 8-years imprisonment for his involvement in March 1, 2008 events where 10 people were killed and many injured in Yerevan.
