YEREVAN. – There are no prerequisites for early election in Armenia, spokesperson for ruling Republican Party Eduard Sharmazanov told journalists on Monday.

Speaking about the upcoming parliamentary elections, he stressed that the Republican Party has not yet defined the format of its participation.

“It will be decided in fall, closer to the elections,” he said.

Commenting on Prosperous Armenia Party’s intention to run for election through separate list recently voiced by its leader Gagik Tsarukyan, Sharmazanov said each party has prerogative to make such decisions itself.

“There are working relations between Republican Party and Prosperous Armenia,” he added.

The MP avoided predicting whether second President Robert Kocharyan may return to politics.

Summing up, Sharmazanov stressed serious steps were recently taken to establish an atmosphere of tolerance and political dialogue in the country.
