YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan’s demands that France should withdraw from the OSCE Minsk Group is conditioned by the fact that Azeri experts consider France is biased towards Karabakh conflict resolution, military expert David Jamalyan told a press conference on Tuesday. He stressed that the Azerbaijani side claims France is a pro-Armenian country.
According to him, France is as much pro-Armenian as the two people have ethnic and political interests. However, it can no way affect the negotiation process on the Karabakh issue. “The French Senate rejected a bill criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in the early 20th century. It indicates that Azerbaijani analysts’ statements are untrue. France is not a country blindly satisfying the whims of the Armenian Diaspora and Armenia. Like any other country, France takes steps following its interests,” the expert concluded.
Earlier, Armenian News - NEWS.am reported earlier, on May 4 French Senate rejected the bill penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire with 196 votes “against” and 74 “for”
