A resident of Glendale, Armenian by origin, was arrested on Monday after he allegedly fled the scene of a car crash and then brawled with officers while holding his daughter in his arms, Glendale News-Press reports.
Witnesses told police that 49-year-old Paylak Harutyunyan crashed into two parked cars driving in a white Toyota Venza containing his wife and two children.
Later officers found Harutyunyan walking with his family. When asked about the crash, Harutyunyan, who allegedly smelled of alcohol, started arguing with an officer.
The newspaper writes that when the officer grabbed Harutyunyan’s left arm, he quickly swung his fist at the officer’s face as he held onto his daughter.
Local policemen said the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office for review.
