YEREVAN. - Construction in Armenia grew by 16.9% in first four months of 2011, national statistical service reports.
However, according to another study by the same service, construction materials for the same period experienced a serious decline.
Thus, production of concrete fell by 28%, while cement production decreased by 40% (130 thousand tons of cement was produced over 4 months).
Production of other construction materials also went down, except for stone, sinter and lime. The decline in production of doors from metal and plastic made nearly 18%.
