YEREVAN. – The Armenian Defense Ministry dismisses reports of the Azerbaijani media saying an Azerbaijani civilian was killed by the Armenian armed forces on Friday.

Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh had already dismissed information, said David Karapetyan, spokesperson for Armenian Defense Ministry.

“If the Azerbaijani side has proofs they can appeal to the international structures for further investigation. Spreading such reports is provocation staged ahead of presidents’ meeting in Kazan to win more political dividends,” he said.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Trend agency reported a civilian, Elmar Piriyev, was killed in an alleged ceasefire violation by the Armenian side on Friday. However, the Azerbaijani defense ministry has not officially commented on regular misinformation spread by local media.
