YEREVAN. - The issue of so called delegation of “negotiators” with opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) has not been discussed at recent sitting of ruling Republican party (RPA) council, leaded by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. The issue is not on the agenda of ruling party, the head of RPA parliament group Galust Sahakyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The authorities are open for constructive dialogue with any political power but that does not assume special delegations, said Sahakyan. In his comment the statement of ANC activist David Shahnazaryan that Armenian authorities will accept discussion of possible snap elections, Sahakyan marked that one should not confuse current political climate with that of 1998, when first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan was forced to resign.

“Current situation is different,” said Sahakyan, adding that authorities are ready to cooperate with various political forces only on the issue of ensuring proper atmosphere for “good” elections.

Earlier ANC decided upon the list of negotiators with the authorities. Council-endorsed delegation members’ list includes:

Levon Zurabyan – ANC Headquarters’ coordinator, former president’s press officer, (Head of the delegation).
David Shahnazaryan- ANC Headquarters’ representative, former head of national security service
Vahagn Khachatryan- Member of ANC Economic Committee, Head of ANC Malatsia department, former Yerevan city mayor
Feliks Khachatryan- Secretary of the People’s Party of Armenia, former representative in the Central Election Committee
Samvel Abrahamyan - Deputy Chairman of Armenian National Movement.
