YEREVAN. -  The peace process on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has been intensified. At the moment, work on finalizing basic principles is underway, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told Azeri reporters in Washington, 1news.az reports referring to “Voice of America.”

“However, finalizing basic principles does not mean achieving a peace agreement. It should not be allowed spending 70 years to draft a peace document after these principles are agreed. If the basic principles are agreed, the work on the peace agreement should be completed within 6-12 months,” Mammadyarov said.

“Hillary Clinton’s standpoint is to finalize basic principles proposed by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs as soon as possible and start preparations for a peace agreement. I completely agree with it. The principles we will move forward with are clear, let call them a “road map”.  The work on peace agreement should start as soon as possible,” Mammadyarov stressed.
