YEREVAN.- The Armenian city of Goris may be declared tourist destination.
The relevant draft decision was included in the agenda of government meeting scheduled for June 10.
Interestingly, the project was submitted by Ministry of Culture but not Ministry of Economy which is responsible for tourism development.
The concept introduced by the ministry points out a castle in Old Goris which dates back to early period, residential and community complexes, as well as school, church, printing office, hotel, mansions and so on.
The historical center of Goris is likely to turn into a cultural zone.
It was also noted that the geographical position of Goris promotes ecological and adventure tourism.
