French Secretary of State for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne on Wednesday will arrive in Yerevan for a two-day working visit, the Embassy of France in Armenia reported.
During his visit to Armenia, Lemoyne will visit the construction site for construction of the building of the Anatole France French Educational Complex.
Upon the July 2, 2020 decision of the Government of Armenia, the building of the former School #16 was transferred to the Anatole France French Educational Complex for gratuitous use as the government’s great contribution to the relations between France and Armenia and its commitment to La Francophonie. The new building will allow the Educational Complex to host more schoolchildren, including Frenchmen, other foreigners and Armenians, who form a majority.
The Anatole France French Educational Complex provides education for children and teens (from kindergarten to the 12th grade) in accordance with the programs of the Ministry of Education of the French Republic. The school is named after Anatole France as a sign of respect towards writer, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature, founder of the League of Human Rights and great supporter of the Armenian Cause Anatole France (1844-1924), who is known for his famous speech at the “Homage to Armenia” meeting in Sorbonne in April 1916.
