The leadership of Switzerland-Armenia Association intends to hold a press conference after the Armenia-Turkey Protocols’ signing, Association Co-Chairman Sarkis Shahinian told NEWS.am. He said the organization is against the documents which will provoke negative consequences for Armenian side.

According to the Association members, on the entry of the Protocols into force, Karabakh will be threatened. Under the provision on non-interference in the affairs of the third countries (under international law Karabakh is still a part of Azerbaijan) Armenia will not be capable of assisting NKR and it will have to struggle for self-determination on its own. Moreover, according to the statement published by the Association yesterday, ratification of the documents blocks Genocide recognition process. The provision on mutual recognition of the borders will lead to the confirmation of illegal Treaty of Kars.

Shahinian informed the press conference is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time. No protests will be held. Shahinian confirmed that the ceremony will take place 8: 00 p.m., a number of high rank officials from Europe, U.S. and Russia will participate.
