Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II visited St. Holy Etchmiadzin church in Tbilisi on Sunday.

His Holiness Karekin II attended the opening ceremony of “Hayartun” centre, located near the church.  Mayors of Tbilisi and Yerevan congratulated the local Armenian community on the opening of the centre.

The construction of St Etchmiadzin church was sponsored by the Armenian society in 1805. It was last renovated in 2006-2010.

Following the ceremony, Karekin II awarded benefactor Boris Sahakyan and highly appreciated his personal contribution in renovation of the church, the press service of Mother  See of Holy Etchmiadzin informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
