The monopolists will have to revise their whole activity once the anti-monopoly system is installed. This tough statement made economist Ara Nranyan, MP of ARF Dashnaktsutyun, October 15.

According to him, MP-businessmen will eventually realize their presence in the Parliament first of all infringes their personal interests – as their ambitions prevents them from passing the bills accords with the interests of the entrepreneurs.

Asked whether in this case oligarch MPs will withdraw from their mandates, Nazaryan replied, “When the state will trigger no more concern, [MPs] will realize they are safe and their profits secured – they will quit [the Parliament], they can’t do otherwise.”

Meanwhile, Director of the Political Economy Center Andranik Tevanyan is less optimistic. “This is not a one-day solution business. Although I don’t believe that our MP-businessmen will commit hara-kiri, but this process should be launched. This is our goal while introducing the anti-monopoly regulation bill to the Parliament,” he maintains.
