YEREVAN. – The center of Armenian Apostolic Church, Holy See of Echmiadzin, forms 16-18 percent of its budget at the expense of selling candles and religious literature, and the rest of the expenses make philanthropists and various organizations that contribute in implementation of different projects, press secretary of Armenian Catholicos, priest Vahram Melikyan told at a press conference on Friday.

According to Melikyan, annual financial report of Holy See of Echmiadzin is presented to Supreme Spiritual Council and then published in the official magazine. Besides the church gives accounts to all those people who contributed in the realization of projects.

“However, there are frequent cases when various construction or reconstruction organizations realize charitable projects. The we have no direct control over their expenses,” the priest added.
