YEREVAN.- Sooner or later Nagorno-Karabakh will be recognized as a subject of international law, and there is no alternative to it, Armenian military expert Davit Jamalyan told journalists on Friday.
According to him, real progress in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict will be reached when Azerbaijan realizes it.
“Azerbaijan must understand that 86,000 odd square kilometers, used to be Azerbaijani Soviet Republic, have gone. Nowadays, Azerbaijanis refuse to accept this, it refers both to ruling clan and the opposition. Therefore, it is too early to speak of any solution to the Karabakh conflict,” the expert said.
Jamalyan considers the negotiation process will not lead to anything as long as Nagorno-Karabakh is left out of talks.
”It is up to Nagorno-Karabakh to decide whether to agree to Azerbaijan’s concessions or not. We can not do this, it is a manifestation of radicalism from our side,” he stressed.
