YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: In one year, the permanent population of Armenia decreased by 2,300.

Zhoghovurd daily was informed by the RA Statistical Committee that as of April 1 of this year, the permanent population in our country was 2 million 961 thousand 600 people, whereas in the same period of the previous year the population was 2 million 963 thousand 900 people.

On the other hand, let us note that in some provinces of the RA, on the contrary, the population has increased on the account of various shifts.

The population in Yerevan has decreased by 400. If as of April 1 of the previous year the population [in Armenia’s capital] was 1 million 93 thousand 600, then in the same period of this year—1 million 93 thousand 200 people.
