Skyguide service on Wednesday announced that the Swiss airspace was temporarily closed due to a technical failure, TASS reported, citing the organization.

"Skyguide encountered a technical malfunction in the early hours of this morning, and therefore Swiss airspace was closed," the statement clarified.

The service apologized for the inconvenience, however. Customers, passengers and partners at the Zurich and Geneva air harbors faced problems.

It is currently unknown how long it will take to fix the problems and reopen the Swiss airspace.
