YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday received Bertrand Delanoe, Mayor of Paris and Chairman of the International Association of Francophone Mayors.
The President welcomed Delanoe for convening, in the Armenian capital Yerevan, the annual session of the Association’s General Assembly and for chairing it. Armenia’s head of state noted that his country delightfully hosts this important international meeting, which brings together numerous mayors of the capitals of francophone countries, and which bespeaks the importance Armenia gives to inter-cultural discourse and developing economic and cultural relations with francophone states, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In his turn, Bertrand Delanoe thanked the President for the warm reception and allowing the opportunity to hold the Assembly’s session in Yerevan.
Reflecting on Armenian-French relations, the interlocutors noted that the high level mutual visits, which were made especially in the past one month, and the events organized along the lines of those visits, further strengthened the already-strong foundations of friendship between both countries. And now it can optimistically and confidently be said that cooperation between Armenia and France will continue to develop with that spirit.
