YEREVAN. – Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edward Nalbandian, on Wednesday received the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoe, and thanked him for the joint projects being carried out in the past ten years.
The FM noted that the last one month was significant for Armenia, as it became a month of Armenian-French friendship, and it commenced with Armenian President’s state visit to France and it will end with the International Association of Francophone Mayors General Assembly’s annual session, to be held in the Armenian capital Yerevan, and which is accompanied by Paris mayors’ inaugural visit to Armenia, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Nalbandian specifically underscored the opening of Komitas’ statue in the heart of Paris, opening of the Yerevan Grove, the Paris City Hall’s annual reception in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, and the City Hall’s active participation in the Armenia Year in France events. “All this was materialized during your tenure as mayor, and Yerevan remembers that,” Armenia’s FM stressed.
In his turn, Bertrand Delanoe said he delightfully visits friendly Armenia and is confident that the implementation of the arrangements, which were reached during his visit, would further deepen the ties between our two capitals, countries, and peoples.
Armenian FM and Mayor of Paris jointly highlighted the Yerevan session of the General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone Mayors, expressing confidence that the event will greatly strengthen Armenia’s positions in the family of francophone countries.
